PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio)Eagles fans who are frustrated by former defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon share that in common with defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson.

At the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Gannon — now the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals — took more questions about the performance of the Eagles' defense in their Super Bowl LVII loss to Kansas City. This was the first time Gannon spoke to Philadelphia media since that game.

WIP Sportradio’s Eliot Shorr-Parks tweeted a video of Gannon answering a question about what happened in the second half, in which the Eagles blew a 10-point lead. Gannon continued to take responsibility for the subpar performance.

Gardner-Johnson had other thoughts, apparently. In response to that video, he said, “You ain’t put us position to make plays.”

Gardner-Johnson deleted the tweet shortly thereafter.

It remains to be seen whether the Eagles will resign Gardner-Johnson, who was one of their best players on defense this past season. But what is evidently clear is he didn’t approve of Gannon’s coaching.
