PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Few things make Eagles fans happier than beating the Dallas Cowboys, and it appears their new head coach is embracing that way of life.

Nick Sirianni — days before his third game with the organization and his first against Dallas — wore a “Beat Dallas” T-shirt, complete with clashing Eagles and Cowboys helmets.

That’s certainly something you don’t see every day — if ever.

“I can’t tell you how many times since I’ve been here having an interaction with a fan — it’s like, ‘Hey, beat Dallas.’ And I think that’s really cool,” said Sirianni. “I really love the fact that I’m able to partake in this rivalry, and it means a lot to the city, it means a lot to our team and it means a lot to this building.”

Whether or not Sirianni’s shirt game will spark possible “bulletin board material” for the opposition, he’s not concerned.

“I’m sure they’re gonna have the picture of this shirt up on there,” he said, “and that’s fine. This is about a great rivalry … and it being a division game, I don’t know if anyone needs — our side, their side — needs any more bulletin board material or if it’s even gonna help, because we know how big the rivalry is and how much it means to both sides.”

Sirianni plans to keep wearing the shirt, and his family will join in, too.

Week 2 didn’t go as well as Week 1 for Sirianni, but there is no better way to make Eagles fans forget about their loss to the 49ers than by beating the Dallas Cowboys in their home opener on the road in primetime.

“You make plays in this game, they’re gonna be shown for a long time,” he said.
