PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Eagles are going to try to avoid losing four in a row on Sunday when they play the Carolina Panthers. Both teams are coming off of losses, so the Eagles need to take advantage of the Panthers at this moment.
Offensively, Carolina's quarterback is former Jet Sam Darnold. He's been better this season. Their talented running back, Christian McCaffrey, is dealing with a hamstring injury. His inclusion is likely to be a game-day decision.
Regardless, the Eagles' defense must be better. They have to stop the run.
The Voice of the Eagles, Merrill Reese, said Friday there are three things they must do to defeat the Carolina Panthers:
1. Pressure quarterback Sam Darnold.
3. Get the football out to the running backs and run it a decent number of times.

Head Coach Nick Sirianni said on Monday there were some tough conversations in the defensive room. The Philadelphia Inquirer's Marcus Hayes reported Friday morning that Sirianni "blistered his defensive coaching staff" in those meetings, and that includes a focus on rookie defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon, who has had an absolutely rough couple of weeks with this team.
