PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) -- The 2020 Eagles season was about to unofficially end Thursday night, but Carson Wentz conjured up some fourth-quarter magic.

Trailing the Giants, 21-10, Wentz threw two late touchdowns, and the Eagles came away with a 22-21 victory. The game-winning score came with just 40 seconds remaining, as Wentz connected with Boston Scott to put the Eagles ahead to stay.

After falling short in the fourth quarter for the last two weeks, Wentz said he is relieved to finally be part of a happy ending.

"It does a lot for our confidence, the way we really fought to come back in the last couple of ball games," Wentz said. "To actually do it and pull out a win, it's huge for our confidence, and we know it's a divisional game."

Wentz is beginning to build a reputation as a fourth-quarter quarterback. He nearly led the Eagles to comeback wins over the Steelers and Ravens in the last two weeks before pulling off his comeback against the Giants.

Coach Doug Pederson says he believes Wentz is taking his game to another level.

"He's taken that step in the right direction to be one of the top quarterbacks in this league," Pederson said. "I mean, quarterbacks sometimes get measured by fourth-quarter comebacks. I know that's part of a stat that gets recorded. He's done that."

Scott also came up big throughout the contest. In addition to his game-winning catch, the running back racked up 92 total yards on a night when the Eagles were without Miles Sanders.

Scott says the team was confident they could come back despite falling behind late in the fourth quarter.

"We never faltered," said Scott. "We were never, like, panicking or frustrated or whatever. We just knew, we just always knew that, you know, we were going to find a way to win this game."

The win puts the Eagles' record at 2-4-1. While the record isn't exactly sparkling, it puts the Eagles in a virtual tie with the Cowboys for first place in the NFC East. The Cowboys come to town a week from Sunday, and Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham is hoping the momentum of this victory will carry over to their next critical contest as well as the rest of the season.

"We're battled tested," Graham said.  "All the things that tend to go wrong in these games, we always find a way to rally back.  Sometimes we come up short in the end, but things are going to start clicking for us."
