PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — In the day and age of social media, sometimes celebrating your team’s victory in the stadium or in front of the TV simply isn’t enough. Some fans, like Robert Williams, Jr. — a very dedicated Eagles fan — like to get a little creative with it.

“I really believe that my calling is to create and put smiles on people’s faces,” said Williams, a husband, father of two, government employee and army veteran who is from central New Jersey and currently lives in Maryland.

Williams posts song parodies — often of Billy Joel songs — on his Instagram account. They’re well-choreographed, cleverly-written, finely tuned performances by Williams that sometimes include his family.

As someone who dabbled in rap and hip hop back in the day, Williams says rhyme scheme is very important. Props and costumes are crucial. He’ll see storylines that happen in the Eagles games and then start thinking about how he would want to sing about it in a song. And since he often uses tracks from Joel’s music, he refers to himself as “Billy Soul.”

Williams has 419,000 followers on Instagram and 1.3 million on TikTok. He has also collaborated with fellow Eagle fan content creators.

“Receiving the love from the fans has been great,” Williams said. “Not just from the fans, but from some players. It came to my surprise that [former Eagles right guard] Mekhi Becton was following me. Brandon Graham followed me back. To get some of the players to rock with me and like some of the videos, it just means everything.”

And, not only will Williams celebrate the Eagles' successes, but he’s not hesitant to poke fun at their rivals, especially the Dallas Cowboys.
