PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Flyers game in Washington Tuesday night has been postponed due to COVID-19 issues.

The announcement came after a second Flyer in the past three days was placed on the team's COVID-19 list. Defenseman Travis Sanheim was placed on the COVID-19 list on Sunday. When the NHL did its daily update of players unavailable due to COVID protocol, the Flyers on the list were captain Claude Giroux, defenseman Justin Braun and Sanheim.

Being on the COVID-19 list does not necessarily mean a player has tested positive for the virus. Players can be added to the list for other reasons, like coming in contact with someone who was exposed to the virus.

There is no word yet on when the game against the Washington Capitals will be rescheduled.

The Flyers-Devils games on Thursday and Saturday at the Wells Fargo Center have also been postponed due to COVID-19 issues with the Devils.

Several NHL teams have been dealing with postponements and COVID-19 situations since the start of the season.
