PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) -- Phillies manager Joe Girardi says everything is fine between him and second baseman Jean Segura. He continued to avoid going into detail Tuesday about their heated exchange, caught by TV cameras on Sunday, but he seemed less annoyed by questions about it.

"Every little spat that you have with someone that you love at home, you don't go and tell everyone around you," Girardi said prior to the Phillies 8-3 win over the Marlins.
But Girardi had no problem sharing this much: "I told him I love him."
According to reporters who spoke with Segura prior to Tuesday's win, he shared a similar sentiment about Girardi.
"Everything that happens here, I always make sure that we take of," Girardi said. "As I said, there's a time and a place, and I'm not always going to tell you when the time and the place is, but we take care of things, and that's what we do."
After Saturday night's 4-0 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays, Girardi was frustrated about his team's playing defense. Then, in the first inning on Sunday's game against Toronto, Segura misplayed a ball on a play he should have made.
On Tuesday's Phils Radio Network pregame show, Girardi credited Segura for his instincts, but explained that in this instance it backfired. He also said that Segura needs to be a leader in the infield, especially with regular shortstop Didi Gregorius dealing with an elbow injury.
"These things are gonna happen during the course of the year and the unfortunate thing is sometimes things get caught on camera," Girardi said, "but it happens during the course of the game because there's passion in this game, and we're all about winning here, and sometimes things happen."
In the end, both Girardi and Segura emphasized that all is good between them.
