PHILADELPHIA (94WIP Sportsradio) — Merrill Reese has agreed to a multi-year contract extension to continue calling Philadelphia Eagles games on SportsRadio94WIP.
"I can tell you, I will never willingly retire," Reese said during Wednesday's 94WIP Morning Show with Angelo Cataldi, live from MaGerk's Pub & Grill in Horsham at the 2022 Birds Town Hall. "They will have to remove me with a crane because this is what I love doing more than anything else in the world."
Reese, 79, has been the Eagles' play-by-play announcer since 1977, making him the longest-serving current NFL play-by-play announcer.
Over the years, Merrill Reese has had countless memorable calls and unforgettable moments, like the Eagles' Super Bowl victory in 2018. However, his most iconic call may be DeSean Jackson's walk-off punt return touchdown in 2010.
