DOYLESTOWN, N.J. (KYW Newsradio)Delaware Valley University in Doylestown is one of the nation's top Division III football programs. Now, the Aggies have a familiar face as their new head coach.

Mike Isgro took over the program last week, but he already knows Delaware Valley football very well. Isgro was a star quarterback for the Aggies for four years and has served as an assistant coach for former head coach Duke Greco since 2015.

Greco left last month to take over the program at Division II West Chester University, and Isgro says he is excited for the opportunity.

"Over the years, DelVal [has] been a proud place known for their football, known for their school as well,” he told KYW Newsradio.

“I want to continue that — obviously put a different stamp on it, but the same things, I want people to recognize our guys for their hard work, their dedication, doing the right things in the community, on campus.”

DelVal is coming off a 9-2 2023 season. The Aggies have won six consecutive Middle Atlantic Conference titles and 53 straight Middle Atlantic Conference games. While Isgro looks ahead to the future on the field, he also acknowledges the importance of what happens off the field.

“We've got some great young men here. They're not just football players, they're great young men in this area and in the community,” he said.

In between his days setting QB records at DelVal and returning to Doylestown as an assistant coach, Isgro spent five seasons as an assistant coach at Cedar Creek High School in Egg Harbor City, New Jersey.
