PHILADELPHIA (WIP Sportsradio) — Philadelphia Eagles star pass rusher Haason Reddick will have surgery on his thumb, an injury he suffered in Monday's practice, according to insider Ian Rapoport.
Rapoport reports that Reddick is having the surgery so he is ready for the start of the season.
Reddick, 28, is coming off of his best NFL season, where he recorded 16 sacks and five forced fumbles in his first regular season as an Eagle, plus another 3.5 sacks in three playoff games.
Reddick signed a three-year deal worth $45 million in March 2022 as a free-agent, though e recently made comments about being underpaid.
When asked if he feels he is underpaid, the Camden, New Jersey native told the media earlier this month, "Y'all see it. Y'all know what's going on."
Reddick is the 15th highest-paid edge rusher in the NFL. Last year, he had more sacks than anyone in the NFL, factoring in the postseason.
