PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Flyers head coach Alain Vigneault has found himself wrapped up in a wave of allegations. Over the weekend, Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Robin Lehner accused him and the team of medical malpractice in a series of tweets.

Lehner accused other NHL teams — not the Golden Knights — of pushing benzodiazepines and Ambien on their players.

“Dinosaur coach treating people [like] robots not human. Fire these dinosaurs. Fire #vigneault first story. I got proof.. try to shake your way out of this one,” he tweeted.

Monday morning, Lehner told ESPN his tweets did not accuse Vigneault of distributing pills, but rather called out the way coaches treat players.

Lehner, 30, has been on five teams but has never played for Vigneault, and, as of Monday morning, has not shared any evidence to back his claims. He tweeted he would be releasing a story and proof.

Chuck Fletcher, Flyers president of hockey operations and general manager, said in a statement: “The health and well-being of our players is our top priority, and any care provided to them comes from the team’s health care professionals, not the coaching staff. We have no reason to believe any of our players have received improper care.”

Vigneault has also denied the allegations.

According to the Associated Press, the NHL is looking into interviewing Lehner about his accusations.
