PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — He's a star college pitcher for Old Dominion, and his favorite baseball player is Philadelphia Phillies star hurler Aaron Nola.

However, Montgomery County's own Ryne Moore will be chasing his major league dream in the Milwaukee Brewers system.

The Brewers selected Moore, who went to Spring-Ford Area High School in Royersford, as the 537th overall selection in the MLB Draft's 18th Round on Tuesday.

Moore, a 6'4", 210-pound right-hander, spent four years on the mound for Old Dominion. He was named a Second-Team All-Conference USA starting pitcher in his senior year, going 9-1 with a 3.16 ERA in 14 starts and 17 appearances.

He displayed his mound mastery in the 2021 NCAA Baseball Regional Tournament at South Carolina, only allowing one earned run in seven innings against the host Gamecocks.

Moore's father played at East Stroudsburg University. Ryne avidly follows the Phillies, Eagles, Flyers and Sixers, and also played hockey at Spring-Ford, according to ODU.
