Tyrese Maxey may only be 21, but he is handling these offseason trade rumors with resolute maturity.
The Philadelphia 76ers guard's name has been floated around in potential long-shot trade rumors involving Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant. Just the thought of Maxey leaving Philly was enough for one 8-year-old boy to burst into tears.
His father tweeted the video, which has garnered more than 3.2 million — and the attention of Maxey himself, who promised the "lil man" a jersey.
The Sixers are one of many teams involved in Durant trade rumors. The Nets are hoping for a historic package for the all-time great player, who has reportedly requested a trade.
ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski believes Brooklyn is searching for a massive haul— something like five first-round picks and an All-Star level player for Durant, who reportedly wants to play for the Miami Heat or Phoenix Suns.
Maxey is certainly a valuable piece with All-Star upside, but it would seem the Sixers likely do not have enough valuable assets to add to Maxey to create a worthwhile package for Durant.
