PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Saquon Barkley was a beast. The defense was dominant. There's no reason why the Philadelphia Eagles shouldn't feel good on the heels of posting their largest margin of victory in over a year.

But in respect to the big picture, the Eagles' ambitions go way beyond a 28-3 Week 7 win over the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium. To put themselves in position for serious postseason contention, there's more work to be done, especially at the most prominent position on the roster.

Jalen Hurts' performance Sunday was a solid one. The quarterback went 10-for-14 on pass attempts, threw for 114 yards, and factored in three touchdowns — a 41-yard downfield beauty to receiver A.J. Brown, and two on the ground via the push of his tush.

Making the afternoon even better, Hurts went a second straight game without a turnover.

His quarterback rating in two wins coming off the Eagles' bye week has been his highest in consecutive games since the middle of last year.

While these signs have been encouraging, closer scrutiny reveals that Hurts still has room to elevate his play. Is he seeing the entire field? What about his reads? Could he be overreacting to pocket pressure?

These are questions that The Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane explores in the latest edition of "unCovering the Birds," as he goes through the game tape and conducts a deeper evaluation of Hurts' performance against the Giants.

Like McLane says in the podcast, "The film doesn't lie…"
