PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A man is dead and two people are injured after a crash in Northeast Philadelphia Sunday morning.

Police say just before 8 a.m., a man was driving along Roosevelt Boulevard in a Ford F-150 when a person in what police believe was a black Jeep Grand Cherokee lost control and struck his car, causing it to overturn.

“That vehicle’s passenger-side tires went up onto the grass median that separated the inner and outer drives. That vehicle then lost control and slid, and ultimately slid across the inner drive of the boulevard to the passenger side of a Ford F-150, which was also traveling on the inner drive of the boulevard,” said Captain Robert Heinzeroth with the Crash Investigation Division.

Kevin Williams, 57, of Philadelphia, was partially ejected from the Ford and died just minutes later.

Two people, ages 52 and 75, were in the car with him. They were taken to a nearby hospital, where they are listed in stable condition.

Police say the Dodge, which had heavily tinted windows and a tinted license plate cover, fled the scene. The front end of the car is damaged.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the Crash Investigation Division at 215-685-3180.
