PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A car fatally struck a one-year-old in a stroller and injured two others as they crossed a street in North Philadelphia Saturday.

Police say it happened just before 9 p.m. when a mother was walking west on the intersection of North Front Street and East Wyoming Avenue with the baby and her 13-year-old.

That’s when a 28-year-old driving a blue Dodge Ram hit them as he went to turn left on Front Street. Police say both the 28-year-old and pedestrians, who were in the crosswalk, had a green light.

The baby was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, where she died about a half hour later. The mother and 13-year-old are in stable condition.

Police say the driver stayed at the scene. No arrests have been made; charges are pending following further investigation.
