PHILADELPHIA(KYW Newsradio) -- Prosecutors have filed involuntary manslaughter charges against the 12-year-old brother of the 9-year-old girl shot and killed last week in North Philadelphia. The boy is charged as a juvenile.
Officials say the siblings' 5-year-old cousin was the one who fired the gun in a house near 23rd and Bouvier streets, but the 12-year-old showed the child where the gun was.
Blake Davis, the father of the victim and the boy has also been charged with involuntary manslaughter and related charges, including gun possession by a convicted felon.
City leaders remind everyone: There are free gun locks available, with no questions asked, through Temple Health. Go to templesafetynet.org for more information.
