
UPPER DUBLIN, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — An Upper Dublin couple is dead after a house caught fire early Thursday morning.
Officials say fire crews got a call just after 4 am of fire shooting out the back windows of a house on the 900 block of Bellaire Avenue in Ambler. Once on the scene, crews found 35-year-old Stephen Wood, Jr. had escaped from the home, alerting officials two more people were trapped inside.
Upon entering the home, fire crews found two people dead. The victims have been identified as 74-year-old Stephen Wood, Sr., and 70-year-old Deborah Wood. Officials confirmed the two were a married couple.
Wood, Jr. was taken to Temple Hospital with burns and smoke inhalation injuries. His condition is unknown.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by Upper Dublin Township and Pennsylvania State Fire officials.
