PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — One person is dead and multiple people are injured after two separate three-car collisions in Philadelphia Sunday.

The first happened along the intersection of 20th Street and Cecil B. Moore Avenue a little before 1 a.m.

Police say a person in a Honda Accord driving westbound on Cecil B. Moore disregarded a red light and struck a Chevy Spark traveling southbound. The Chevy then collided with a Buick Enclave.

Police say two people inside the Honda fled on foot after the crash. The driver of the Chevy, later identified as 38-year-old Edwin Villamizar, died at the scene, and two people inside the Buick were transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.

Police are searching for the people in the Honda.

About 20 minutes later, police say three cars collided in the northwest section of Philadelphia at the intersection of 5th Street and Cheltenham Avenue.

Investigators say a 54-year-old man traveling eastbound on Cheltenham in a Chevy Malibu went through a red light and struck a 34-year-old man in a Ford Taurus going northbound.

The Taurus then collided with a Nissan Sentra driven by a 47-year-old man, who was stopped at a red light on Cheltenham.

All three people were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police say the 54-year-old is in "serious condition."
