PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia police are looking for two men caught on camera ramming into an Uber and stealing tens of thousands of dollars from a Rite Aid manager sitting inside.
It was just after 3 pm Tuesday when authorities say the manager of a West Oak Lane Rite Aid store was in the Uber on her way to the bank to make a $32,000 cash deposit.
She tells police she was near 72nd and Ogontz Avenue when the Uber was then hit from behind by another vehicle.
Police say as the Uber driver stopped to assess the damage, two masked men approached the vehicle, stole the money bag from the woman, hopped back into their car, and sped off.
Police describe the suspect's vehicle as a silver or gray older model Honda CRV with a paper tag and a “Lyft” sticker on the passenger side front windshield.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Philadelphia Police.
