PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Authorities are investigating separate shootings in Philadelphia involving teenagers.

The younger victim is just 13 years old.

The first shooting happened just after 3:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon in North Philadelphia along Bailey Street, near 27th and Somerset.

A 19-year-old was shot in the chest and side, but is expected to physically recover.

Police said two hours later, in the 25th district, a 13-year-old was shot in the upper left back and then driven to the hospital.

Officers said they are trying to find out where it happened, but they did not initially have an exact location.

The child is also expected to recover.

About 1,400 people have been shot so far this year in Philadelphia.
