PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — There was an increased police presence outside City Hall Monday night as hundreds of young people descended on Dilworth Park. It was the second night in a row that large crowds had to be ushered away.
Police said three people were arrested Sunday night for firearms offenses, robbery and disorderly conduct. Seven others were cited for disorderly conduct.
Out of precaution, more than a dozen police cars were stationed outside City Hall Monday night.
Hundreds of kids — who appeared to be around middle or high school age — appeared near 15th and Market streets. About five were put in handcuffs, and at one point, police had tasers drawn. It is not clear why people were handcuffed.
The large presence disrupted traffic around Center City.
