PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Three people, including a 14-year-old, were injured in a stabbing overnight, during a family gathering in the city's Germantown section.
Police said they were called just after 12:15 a.m. Saturday to a home on Grange Avenue near Wister Street.
According to officers, one of the victims, a 32-year-old woman, told them the family gathered after a funeral.
The woman said the incident began after a verbal altercation turned physical between her boyfriend's 37-year-old sister and two unknown family members.
Police said someone pulled a gun and struck the woman in the head multiple times.
When the victim's boyfriend and her 14-year-old son intervened, the offender stabbed both of them multiple times. The woman was also stabbed in her left finger.
All three victims self-transported to a nearby hospital, where the 35-year-old man was initially placed in critical condition. Police said he is now stable and expected to survive. The other two victims are also in stable condition.
Investigators say they recovered a 7-inch black-handled knife and located a blood trail at the scene.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
