PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Four people, including three teenagers, were injured in a shooting aboard a SEPTA bus Saturday evening in the Brewerytown section of Philadelphia, authorities said.
It happened around 6 p.m. on a Route 15 bus as it crossed the intersection of 33rd Street and Girard Avenue, near Fairmount Park and the Philadelphia Zoo.
Authorities said it happened after a man confronted a group of teens towards the back of the bus, then pulled out a gun and started firing.
The victims included a 14-year-old boy and two 16-year-old boys. A 39-year-old woman was also grazed by a bullet, authorities said. She was treated at the scene and declined further medical attention. The teens were taken to a local hospital and were listed in stable condition.
The suspect is described as a Black male in his early 40s, wearing a red hat and a black zip-up jacket. He fled the scene on foot, heading across 33rd Street onto Girard Avenue.
Officers recovered shell casings at the scene. No arrests have been made.
The Philadelphia Police Department is reviewing surveillance footage from the bus and is urging anyone with information to call 215-686-TIPS (8477).
