A second small earthquake hits northern New Jersey, felt in NYC

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A small earthquake centered in North Jersey rattled the New York City metropolitan area on Tuesday.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the 2.7 magnitude earthquake hit just after noon, centered in Hillsdale, New Jersey.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage, but people across the region reported feeling the rumble on social media.

The earthquake is the second one to shake the area in four days.
