2 men charged in separate North Philly homicides

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Two men have been arrested in connection with separate homicides in North Philadelphia.

Around 7 a.m. on May 4, police were called to a home on North 11th and West Venango streets. There, they found a man, later identified as 20-year-old Maximino Martinez, shot in the chest. He died minutes later.


Police arrested 49-year-old Alexander Marquez in connection with the shooting. He lived in the same home as Martinez and is charged with murder and related offenses.

About a month earlier, on April 11, a Temple University police officer stationed in the emergency room drop-off area of Temple Hospital heard multiple gunshots ring out just before 2 a.m.

The officer found a man unresponsive with bullet wounds to his left shoulder on the sidewalk at West Ontario Street and Germantown Avenue. The victim was later identified as 47-year-old David Price. Police took him to the hospital in critical condition.

Two days later, he died from his injuries.

After a weeks-long investigation, police arrested 34-year-old Brandon Ausborne of Tacony on Saturday.

He's been charged with murder and related offenses.
