PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A man is dead and his mother is in stable condition after an encounter with Plymouth Township police officers.
According to a statement released by the office of Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele, police responded to reports of an armed person at Plymouth Gardens Apartments in Conshohocken late Tuesday night.
Arriving officers reported finding a 22-year-old man with a gun, and a woman, later identified as his mother, with several stab wounds, outside of the building.
The man pointed the gun at officers, and they shot him, according to the statement. He was pronounced dead around 1:30 a.m. at Suburban Community Hospital. His mother is in stable condition at a local hospital, according to authorities.
The identities of the man and his mother have not yet been released, nor have any details about the stabbing.
