PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Two people are dead after separate boat crashes down the shore over the weekend.

A woman was swimming near a floating dock in Atlantic City when she was hit and killed by a 20-foot boat. It happened Saturday evening in the Intracoastal Waterway. The dock was near a house on Boulevard Avenue.

Norma Michaels, 79, of Ventnor, was killed. The man driving the boat stayed at the scene.

Hours later, a man was killed when his boat crashed into a signpost.

Police say 44-year-old Mark Risden, of Tabernacle, Burlington County, was riding on a 23-foot boat when it struck a mile marker shortly after midnight on Sunday.

Four other passengers were injured. Two were flown to a hospital by a Coast Guard helicopter.

Both crashes remain under investigation.
