LANGHORNE, P.A. (KYW Newsradio) — Middletown Township Police are still searching for a gunman they said shot someone outside the Oxford Valley Mall early Thursday evening.
They said it happened around 5 p.m. at a bus stop outside the mall and that it was a targeted shooting. Previous reports called it an active shooting situation, which the Middletown Township disputed.
“This was not an active shooter incident, there was a clear intended target who was the only victim,” the department wrote in a post on Facebook.
The victim is in the hospital and authorities have not provided an update on their condition.
The Oxford Valley Mall remains closed as police continue to investigate and search for the shooter.
Middletown Township Police described the shooter as an African-American male or female, last seen fleeing the mall wearing a black shirt, green pants and a dark colored jacket, holding a black and white bag. Police said the firearm was a handgun, possibly a revolver.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Middletown Township Police Department at 215-949-1000 or 215-750-3845.
