PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia police are looking for three people who abandoned an infant at the Walmart Supercenter in the Northeast Thursday night.
Police said they were called to the Walmart in Philadelphia Mills around 11 p.m. for a report of a theft in progress. When they arrived, they found a very different situation.
Store security guards told officers they had tried but failed to nab three people — two men and a woman — they had suspected of shoplifting. When the three fled, they left behind a 3-month-old baby girl.
She was taken to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital for evaluation, where she is in good condition.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police by texting or calling an anonymous at 215-686-8477 or by calling 911. People can also call the Special Victims Unit at 215-685-3260.
