PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A baby girl was found dead in a hot car in Northampton County Thursday afternoon. Authorities believe she may have been in the car for hours during the scorching heat.
“But at this point in time, I couldn’t tell you how long the child was in the car or when the child passed away,” noted Northampton County District Attorney Stephen Baratta.
The 15-month-old was found around 4 p.m. in her father’s car in a parking lot outside an industrial complex on Hanoverville Road in Lower Nazareth.
Baratta said it wasn’t clear why the car was parked there.
“I don’t believe that the father was an employee of this business,” he said, “but I don’t have any confirming information as to where he worked.”
He said it’s too early to say whether the father will face any charges.
