PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Don’t leave your car keys near a door or window in your home. Bensalem police are warning drivers of a growing vehicle theft trend involving push-button start vehicles, especially Honda CR-Vs, Accords, and Civics, as well as Dodge Chargers and Challengers.
Bensalem investigators released doorbell camera video from over the weekend showing two men stealing a car from a driveway in under a minute. The car alarm never sounded.
Police said thieves are using devices that can capture a key fob’s signal from inside a home.
To prevent such thefts, consider storing your car key in a pouch designed to block wireless signals, and use a steering wheel lock.
