BENSALEM, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — Bensalem Police are searching for a man they said stole a rifle from a Walmart by providing fraudulent "clearance" for the weapon.
Officials said the theft happened around 2:30 on Friday afternoon. Surveillance footage captured the suspect walking into the Walmart on Horizon Boulevard off of Old Lincoln Highway.
He's seen holding a collapsible scooter, and then dons a fluorescent yellow vest and a rifle bag.
It’s then, police said, he went into an employee-only area of the store and handed a worker fake paperwork, claiming to have "clearance" for a Winchester .308 rifle for sale.
He put the rifle in the bag and left the Walmart.
More photos of the suspect can be seen on the Bensalem Police Facebook page. Anyone with information on him or the situation should contact investigators at 215-633-3667.
