PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Funeral services were held Saturday for the two Berks County fire chiefs struck and killed last weekend by a man charged with driving under the influence.
The Fleetwood community came to pay their respects to Fire Chief Jeffory L. Buck, 60, and Assistant Fire Chief Robert R. Shick Jr., 56, from the Walnuttown Fire Company.
The local police chief called them heroes with unwavering commitment to the community.
Alexander Sepulveda-Rivera, 26, of New York City was charged last week with homicide by vehicle, driving under the influence, and related offenses. The Berks County district attorney said he admitted to driving the vehicle that struck the chiefs, smoking marijuana that day, and a crack pipe found at the scene belonged to him.
