RADNOR TOWNSHIP, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — A man and his child escaped without injuries after a shooting on the Blue Route in Delaware County.

State police were called to mile marker 12 on Interstate 476 northbound in Radnor Township around 12:30 p.m. Friday, where they found a blue Honda Civic wrecked on the side of the road.

Investigators say the 62-year-old driver of the Civic fired a gun several times at a 41-year-old man who was in a car with his 8-year-old son. Both vehicles collided, sending the Civic onto the shoulder of the highway.

The victims weren't injured, but the suspected shooter was brought to the hospital for minor injuries.

A portion of 476 was closed while troopers were investigating. It is not clear if road rage or something else led to the shooting. Charges against the suspect have not been announced.
