PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The body of an 18-year-old man was pulled from a vehicle that was submerged in a quarry in Berks County over the weekend.
First responders were called to a water emergency at the former E.J. Breneman Quarry in Spring Township early Sunday morning and found the man submerged in a car.
The Berks County Coroner’s Office said the 18-year-old has been identified, but his name is being withheld so family members can be notified.
An autopsy is being performed.
The Berks County Coroner’s Office and the Springfield Township Police Department are conducting a joint investigation into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
