PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Some parts of Chester County, near Coatesville, are under a boil water advisory.
While crews were repairing a water main break, a storage tank lost positive water pressure, according to Pennsylvania American Water. That means contamination might be able to enter the system.
Officials said about 2,800 residents in East Fallowfield and Valley townships might notice lower water pressure or an interruption to service.
Officials also advise boiling water before consuming. Water should be boiled for at least one minute, then cooled, before drinking, washing dishes, using it to brush your teeth, or preparing food. The water company said it is OK to use for showering and laundry.
