PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A 48-year-old man will spend at least nine years in prison for a string of bank robberies in Bucks, Montgomery, and Delaware counties.
Marc Masich of Amherst, New York was sentenced on Thursday to 9-18 years behind bars, after pleading no contest to one count of robbery and guilty to five others earlier this year.
On Dec. 23, 2024, prosecutors said a mask-wearing Masich passed a note to a teller at a TD Bank in Bensalem, demanding cash without trackers. The teller triggered a silent alarm and told Masich the cash machine was inaccessible.
He left and 13 minutes later, went into a Santander Bank, but left there when he was told he needed to take off the mask.
When Middletown Police heard the call, they told police in Bensalem to look for a black Nissan that was involved in a bank robbery earlier that month.
Twenty-one minutes after the initial robbery attempt, a Bensalem officer saw a car matching that description outside another bank, then saw Masich run out with about $4,000 in a bag. He was taken into custody outside the bank without incident.
According to the criminal complaint, Masich confessed to similar bank robberies in Langhorne, North Wales and Newtown Square.
