SOUTH JERSEY (KYW Newsradio) — With kids back in school and some employers requiring COVID-19 tests for unvaccinated people, Burlington County is reopening one of its testing sites.
As case totals in the state and the rest of the region climb, Burlington County Health Commissioner Dr. Herb Conaway said testing continues to be a critical tool in preventing the spread of the virus.
The county is reopening the test site at the Emergency Services Training Center on Academy Drive in Westampton. Conaway said it’s open five days a week and, as of now, no appointments are necessary.
“Upon arrival, people will be asked for their insurance card. No one will be turned away because of lack of insurance,” he added.
It is open Mondays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from noon to 6 p.m.
Vaccines are still the most important thing to get us past the pandemic, Conaway said, especially with the rise of the delta variant. The county is actively working on plans to open a mass vaccination site, but there’s no timeline on that effort right now.
Conaway said they’re ready to move quickly if and when booster shots are given the green light.
