PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Eating plenty of fruits and vegetables is good for us, but do you know about the benefits of limiting red meat?
According to a recent article in the Harvard Health Letter, a study looking at 30 separate trials conducted over four decades involving over 2,000 people supports the concept that vegetarian and/or vegan diets led not only to lower total cholesterol but a drop in the bad or LDL cholesterol.
The drop in LDL cholesterol was 10%. The study supports what we have known for decades–diet truly makes a difference.
