PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A car crashed into a Dunkin’ coffee shop in Southwest Philadelphia Friday morning.

Around 10 a.m., police said a Nissan Altima tried to pass a tractor-trailer on a narrow one-lane stretch of 70th Street, near Chester Avenue. The Altima hit the side of the tractor-trailer and lost control, sources said, crashing into the Dunkin’.

The car struck the side of the building and shattered two plate-glass windows.

The woman driving the car was injured and taken to the hospital in stable condition. Investigators said no one inside the store was hurt.

The Dunkin’ dining room was closed as the car was removed and repairs were made, but the drive-thru remained open.

There’s no word yet on any charges.
