PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Three people have been charged with ethnic intimidation for an incident that happened this past summer in Northeast Philly.

Authorities say on June 30, three Jewish men were outside the Bluegrass Billiards on Blue Grass Road off of Grant Avenue, across the street from the Northeast Philadelphia Airport, when they were approached by three other men.

“When the defendants discovered the complainants were Jewish, the defendants shouted racial obscenities and threats towards the complainants,” said assistant district attorney Joe Lanuti.

According to Lanuti, one of the men, Aueb Salahedein, pulled a gun on the Jewish men. “The victims then retreated to their vehicle and Mr. Salahedein then took his firearm and smashed it against the windshield, causing it to crack,” Lanuti said.

He said the three defendants took off, but one of the Jewish men got their license plate number and reported it to authorities.

Investigators tracked it down and they say through eyewitnesses, cell phone records and surveillance video, they were able to identify Salahedein and the other suspects, Adam Anse and Ahmad Twam.

All three men face charges of ethnic intimidation, criminal conspiracy, terroristic threats and related offenses. Salahedein also faces gun charges.
