PARKESBURG, P.A. (KYW Newsradio) — A Chester County man is facing charges after authorities said he shared child sex abuse material over a messaging app.
Detectives said it was in December of 2024 when investigators received a tip about 57-year-old John Lumberis of Parkesburg, using the Kik messaging app to send child sex abuse images and videos in chat rooms and private messages. Some involving children police believed to be from 10 to 12 years old.
In some of the rooms, Lymberis allegedly provided names and ages of some of the children depicted, and claimed to have "groomed" a 15-year-old girl.
Lymberis is now charged with child sexual abuse, possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material, and related offenses.
He's currently free on a $35,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is set for June 8.
