PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newasradio) — Firefighters in Chester made a gruesome discovery Thursday night.
Reports of a fire behind the Chester Fine Arts Center near 7th and Sproul streets came in at about 11 p.m. When firefighters extinguished it, they found a body burned beyond recognition.
Police say the death is suspicious in nature. The victim's identity has not been released, though police say they believe it might be a woman in her 30s.
So far no arrests have been made, and police are looking for more information. Investigators want to hear from anyone who might have seen something, and they are also working to obtain surveillance video from the area that could provide a clearer picture of what happened.
