PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The world’s largest publicly traded property and casualty insurance company is building an 18-story-office- building in Philadelphia.
Chubb is expected to officially open at 20th and Arch streets in 2026.
John Keogh, president and chief operating officer of Chubb, says that, once open, they plan to add more than 1,250 positions to their Philadelphia work force.
There will also be hires into Chubb's newly launched apprentice program, which offers positions to those without a four-year college degree in areas like claims, underwriting and technology.
Keogh feels this new location will give Chubb access to the talent that will drive their future growth and success.
“The universities, the colleges and the neighborhoods that are within reach of where we are standing right now – there is so much capable and eager talent.”
Mayor Jim Kenney stood with Governor Tom Wolf Friday under a tent Friday where the building will eventually be built and feels today’s launch was of great importance.
“This is a big big day for Philadelphia,” Kenney said.
The Philadelphia building is expected to be Chubb’s largest in North America.
