Cinderella guitarist, Upper Darby native Jeff LaBar passes away

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The son of Jeff LaBar shared that his father, a longtime guitarist with the heavy metal band Cinderella and a Philadelphia-area native, has died.

"Jeff Labar, my father, my hero, my idol, passed away," Sebastian LaBar shared on Instagram.

"I'm currently at a loss for words. I love you pop!"

Jeff, who was 58, grew up in Upper Darby. He joined the Philadelphia-based band in 1985, the year it signed with a major label. The band sold more than 20 million albums worldwide.

Their hits included songs such as "Shelter Me..."

..."The More Things Change"...

...and "The Last Mile."

He released the album "One For the Road" in 2014. It documented his personal journey since Cinderella's prime years.
