COMMENTARY: Harris, Trump campaigns search for the right message tone amid mixed polling

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — With mixed polling changing tensions in the presidential campaigns. For the six days, former President Donald Trump has been trying to change the tone.

First, he embraced a Florida amendment on the November battle to exceed the state's strict six week limit on abortion. A day later, facing threats from his pro-life base, he changed his mind and said, as a Florida resident, he would vote against any change in that law.

Then, in an effort to attract moderate voters, he said, If elected, he would pay for IVF or in vitro fertilization, which some pro-life advocates see as unethical. His good news the Johnstown rally in Pennsylvania was well received this week.

For her part, Democratic candidate Kamala Harris had a decent first open-question prime time interview, but Democrats across the country want her to do more interviews and a full press conference on a regular basis.

I talked to influencers on both sides of battleground Pennsylvania, and I'm fascinated that both parties are nervous. The Democrats are pumped about Harris in Pennsylvania, but they're urging her campaign, which is still in its infancy, to be more open, to have a bigger presence in conservative counties, where Governor Shapiro did well in 2022 the Republicans are very concerned about Donald Trump's personal and what they consider to be grim, sexually tinged accusations against Harris and Hillary Clinton on his own social media site. Of course, the Harris social media has been very active with sarcasm and so called character attacks against Mr. Trump, Larry Kane kyws radio, 1039, FM.
