Philly police officer struck by driver in stolen car

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A Philadelphia police officer was injured Thursday morning after his patrol vehicle was struck by a stolen car.

It happened just before 10:30 a.m. near 32nd and Tasker streets in South Philadelphia.

Police say the officer was hit when he attempted to stop the stolen car. Police say both cars had “severe damage.”

The officer was treated at a nearby hospital and is physically OK.

After the collision, the driver of the stolen car took off on foot. Police are now searching for that driver.
