PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Two police officers were injured in a car crash early Thursday morning in North Philadelphia. In a separate incident, a third officer was injured after being struck during a foot pursuit in Olney.
The first incident happened around 1:30 a.m. near 23rd Street and Allegheny Avenue.
Investigators said a car collided with a police vehicle, and it flipped onto its side.
The officer was hospitalized in stable condition. The driver of the other car didn’t appear to be injured but was taken to the hospital to be checked out.
Then, around 10 a.m., an officer was running after a man wanted for a domestic assault when he was hit by a car at Front and Duncan streets. The 38-year-old driver remained at the scene and was not charged.
The officer was taken to the hospital, where he was treated for injuries to his hands and head.
The man who was being pursued was taken into custody.
