PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The New York couple charged with assaulting a teenage employee at Sesame Place last summer were found guilty on Friday.

Troy McCoy, 41, was found guilty of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct. His girlfriend, 32-year-old Shakerra Bonds, was found guilty of simple assault and disorderly conduct.

Authorities say in August 2020, the couple visited Sesame Place in Langhorne with their two children. Prosecutors say a 17-year-old worker saw McCoy with his mask down and asked him to pull up. The park had recently reopened with COVID-19 restrictions in place.

A few hours later, on another ride, McCoy started yelling at the teen and Bonds started hitting him, prosecutors said. Then, they say McCoy “sucker-punched” the worker from behind, leaving him with a broken tooth and jaw.

McCoy’s bail was revoked and Bonds was held on $250,000 bail.
